At approximately 0330 hrs York Village Fire was dispatched to Eldridge Lumber on Route 1 for an Automatic Fire Alarm. While enroute YFD was advised that they were now recieving a burglar alarm as well as a waterflow alarm from the sprinkler system. C-1 was already on the air and upgraded the response to a full-first alarm “Working Fire” upon arrival C-1 had smoke showing from the main building. Companies gained access and found a heavy smoke condition in the hardware section with a sprinkler head operating in the paint department. Crews contained the fire to a paint mixing machine and there was no extension. A second alarm was transmitted due to the size of the building for additional manpower and for ventilation.
