We are all deeply saddened by the loss of York Fire Department Auxiliary member Barbara Dinsmore. Barbara was the wife of FF Donald “Sonny” Dinsmore. Barbara was very active with the York Fire Department’s Auxiliary unit. The Auxiliary assists the firefighting effort by providing food and drink at the firehouse and on fire scenes.The Auxiliary’s duties do not end there; however. They staff the SMART truck whose primary function is to run the rehab sector at fire scenes providing, lighting, breathing air for SCBA’s and friendly banter. The Auxiliary members are always there to lend a helping hand no matter what the mission involved. Barbara truly exemplified this role. She was part of the team and always proud to be part of the team no matter how small the job was.
