York Fire Department and York Ambulance were dispatched to the area of 250 Southside Road for a motor vehicle accident, reported to be a car vs. pole. On arrival, first due units found a Jeep off the road into a gully with heavy damage and a telephone pole broken off at the base with the primary wires on fire in a nearby tree. The sole occupant was self-extricated from the vehicle and found standing on the road side with several by-standers. Futher investigation showed the vehicle rolled twice after striking the pole according to the driver. Driver was assessed and treated from minor injuries and released. Fire personnel remained on scene for the arrival of the power company to secure pole and downed wires before vehicle could be removed.
