Late in the evening hours on Sunday night both fire departments were toned out for a report of a structure fire at 194 York St. at Ellis Insurance agency. Caller reported a fire on the outside of the building. On arrival C1 reported smoke showing across York St. Squad 2 arrived at the same time. Crews found a small fire on the outside of the building which appeared to involve some electrical conduit. Crews knocked the fire down with a dry chemical fire extinguisher. Meanwhile entry was forced into the structure and crews inside checked for fire extension and luckily found none. Electrical power was secured to the building as a precaution. Later it was determined that the conduit only carried telephone and computer networking cables. The fire is under investigation by York Village Fire. There was minor damage to the building.
