shortly after dinner time both fire departments were toned out to respond to 19 Long Beach Ave. for a report of a fire in the wall. The homeowner reported they noticed a section of wall in the kitchen felt very hot. On arrival companies found the section of interior partition hot enough to open up and found that shorted out electrical equipment had begun to char the wood framing within. The entire wall assembly was extremely hot to the touch. The electrical power was cut to the house and the remainder of the wall area was opened up and no further extension was found. Engine 1 from York Beach responded and was first due in their district. Squad 2, Engine 4, and Truck 8 responded with approximately 13 firefighters from York Village. Meanwhile a crew was on hand at the firehouse with Engine 6 covering the Village district while companies were tied up. Crews remained on scene approximately 30 minutes. No injuries to civilians or firefighters was reported.
