Tonight our dedicated volunteers (and 1 paid firefighter!!) tested the 4” hose on Engine 4. E4 is designated as our water supply Engine aka our “lay” Engine (its job is to lay hose at fires) as the second due engine. It has fulfilled this role since it was new in 2001. E4 has a “split bed” of 1000’ of 4” in each of the two sides of the hose bed. Recently some hose has been taken out of service to to its age and condition. We tested what was there and added 500’ of new 4” to the inventory. It was no small task but our members rose to the occasion as they always do and got it done.
