At 8:32 p.m. the Village Station was dispatched to I-95 at Mile 9 Southbound for a reported head-on vehicle accident with serious injuries. First in units reported 1 fatality and 1 patient entrapped. The extrication took close to 40 minutes to complete and the patient was flown from the scene to Maine Medical Center in Portland by Life Flight. The cause of the accident was determined to be from one vehicle traveling North in the Southbound lane, killing that driver instantly when the two vehicles stuck.
