Welcome aboard to FF Peter LaBreck of Portsmouth, NH!!
Peter is our newest Addition to the full-time career staff at YVFD. He is a volunteer with the New Castle, NH fire department and also a part-time firefighter with Newington, NH. His first day was April 2, he is replacing Capt. Scott Apgar who is retiring effective April 10. We have been working very hard getting him up to speed with our apparatus, equipment, and procedures. He seems to be fitting in very well.
We certainly have been throwing a lot of information at him, including learning the town on top of learning the names, faces, and, procedures in place at York Village Fire. He seems to be a fast learner!! Today we were out driving and pumping Squad 2. We did a couple of training evolutions at Hannaford and also visited the town of York water treatment plant where our town’s water comes from. We happened to catch sup’t Neumann there who let us inside. We also stopped at the York Police Dispatch center where dispatcher Godard gave us the grand tour.
