This year for the first time, members entered a York Village Fire Department float in the annual York Festival of Lights parade through York Village. The theme was “Our family helping yours” and members dressed in our different uniforms, turnout gear for structural firefighting and wildland firefighting as well as water rescue gear.

A firefighters leather helmet, it is one of the most easily identified piece of the personal protective gear that we wear, each one hand made and individual. A prized possession
to any firefighter that owns one. These are purchased out of the members pockets for $500 each.
