The mount “A” fire tower has fallen into disrepair and hasn’t been able to be used for some time. We have fundraised to replace the cab on top and had the money all set aside from a “Go fund me” campaign several years ago. Much of that money went into an engineering study to examine the feasibility of re-using the existing tower frame and replacing the cab. The tower was deemed structurally stable by an engineering firm and now the work begins in earnest. Today, the cab was removed by a crane. Chief Balentine and Lt. Nick Hilton have been working hard to remove items from the cab prior to it being removed from the tower.
