Extremely icy roads caused a multi-car pile up on Rt. 1 at the Kittery/York line. As first due companies signed on responding, York Dispatch informed units of 5 cars involved with multiple injuries. By the orders of Chief Balentine, more ambulances and manpower were toned. Among the first units on scene were AMR Paramedic 5, Squad 1, Ambulance 1, Engine 4 and C-1. Companies were faced with 7 patients total, all complaining of back and neck pain, with one going into shock. A total of 5 ambulances responded to the scene, and 1 ambulance from Ogunquit covered the Village Station.
