York Village Fire Department responds to many serious motor vehicle accidents on the stretch of Rt. 1 between Old Post Rd. and the Spur Rd. throughout the year. Most of them usually require more than one ambulance, today’s MVA was no exception. Companies were dispatched to Rt. 1 near the York Antiques Gallery for a 2 vehicle MVA, reported to be head-on with one rolled over. Deputy Chief David Apgar (C-4) was the first to arrive on scene and reported one serious injury and two minor injuries. Ogunquit Ambulance and AMR Ambulance were requested to respond mutual aid. Upon evaluation, crews had two signed refusals for two patients, and one patient was transported to York Hospital by York Ambulance 1. The vehicles were removed from the scene by Jack’s Towing and National Wrecker, and the roadway was cleaned up by York Fire crews.
