York Village Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of past chief Fred Ricker. Fred was a member of York Village Fire for 60 years having joined in 1956. He has served the organization in multiple capacities including fire chief, corporation trustee, friend, and mentor to anybody who was fortunate enough to know him. He was a dedicated member and big supporter of the “young guys” at York Village Fire. He was always quick with a friendly word, he will be sorely missed by his many friends. His knowledge of the Fire Department “by-laws” was un-paralleled. Fred was one of our patriarchs, a true “character” Rest In Peace, friend, take care of the York Village boys up there. Until we meet again.
