Tonight for Thursday night training Companies drilled on rural water supply tactics. Crews used tank trucks and porta-tanks set up. Mutual aid tankers from York Beach and Kittery Point assisted our own tanker with keeping the porta tanks full while Engine 4 drafted and attempted to maintain a 750 gallon per minute fire flow. At one point in the evolution, a second porta tank was set up on the ground giving us 5000 gallons of water on the ground. Tankers made a relay to a nearby hydrant to fill up so they could come back and fill the porta tanks. Special Thank You to Lt. Gammon and FF. Graham from York Beach for bringing Engine 5 over, and to Lt. Doucette and FF. Kimball from Kittery Point for bringing Tank 6 over. It was nice to familiarize ourselves with the neighboring town’s fire equipment in the event we need to rely on it.
