Today we had the privilege of having an acquired structure to burn down for training. The crews got numerous live fire evolution’s out of the structure before the building was let to burn down. This training is absolutely irreplaceable. Our nearest approved structure for conducting live fire training drills is in Hollis, ME which is nearly an hour’s drive from York. So we have to take advantage of any acquired structure that comes our way. There are just so many things that we can teach our members in a real house with real fire and smoke which can’t be duplicated without compromising realism.
