After a couple weeks of training at the building located at 39 Ferncroft, today was the final event. York Village Firefighters burned down the structure after using it all day for training fires. York Village played host to: York Beach, Kittery, South Berwick, and Wells firefighters.
Approximately a dozen fires were lit in the building prior to the final burn which took the building down to its foundation. Trainings like these are absolutely invaluable to our department and to the surrounding departments who joined us, the training we were able to conduct cannot be accurately duplicated anywhere. Approximately 20 members were present from the York Village fire Department, approximately another 18 guests were present from York Beach and out of town. We appreciate our members for taking time from their busy schedules to spend a Saturday dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in modern firefighting skills. Thank You to You, our membership!!
We would be remiss if we didn’t give a shout out to: York Beach Fire, Kittery Fire, Wells Fire, and South Berwick Fire for attending our training, it was nice working alongside other dedicated and professional firefighters, Thank You!!
Lastly, we would like to Thank the neighbors of 39 Ferncroft for their hospitality, friendship, and of course the food provided while we “invaded” your neighborhood. You guys were a class act!!!
