Truck 8 was requested to City of Portsmouth Station 1 for coverage. Truck 8 is normally assigned on the 5th alarm but due to the numerous special calls it responded in on the 4th alarm. Village Firefighters who
were assisting the SMART truck quickly left the scene and made their way to Portsmouth Station 1 to meet the responding Truck Co. which was Chauffeured by Capt. John Hunt. Upon arrival of Truck 8 it covered the City with Stratham, NH Engine 3 and Dover, NH Rescue 1 for approximately one 1/2 hour until Portsmouth Tower 5 returned and was placed in service.
