For yet another year, the fire departments of York Village and York Beach are among the last to host a traditional firemen’s field day and muster. We strongly believe in the tradition and have no intention of seeing it end. We began with a noisy parade through York Beach, and part way across Long Sands Beach, up across the Nubble peninsula before returning to the York Beach ball field for some good natured firefighting rivalry in the form of the traditional New England firemen’s muster. We did the dry hose, wet hose, mystery, and the ladder. There were three teams, York Village, Rollinsford, and York Beach. There was time left over at the end and the children were allowed to participate in the wet hose event. Some got wet, some stayed dry, all were smiling!!! see ya next year York Beach!!!!
