Another year is in the books for York Beach Firemen’s field day!! It was a scorcher today with temperatures in the 90’s; though there was a slight sea breeze at the Beach ball field. We got to see old friends that we only see a couple times a year, and the friendly rivalry between York Village and York Beach was just as strong as ever. Engines 4,6, Truck 8, Brush 10, and the “old Engine 6” participated in the parade, making as much noise as possible. York Village put together a muster team and West Kennebunk firefighters were guilted into competing in the muster as well. They definitely did better than we did!! The children were also permitted to run a “kids dry hose” event after the professionals faced off!! Trophies were handed out and since there were only two teams, everybody got trophies!! All in all, it was a great day and we are looking forward to our own field day on August 18, 2018; well, and the Beach field day next year!! Thanks for hosting a great day, YBFD!!!
