Every year at the Fireman’s Field Day Dinner the Officers of the York Village Fire Dept. present awards to recognize the members that went above and beyond over the last year. Most awards are voted on by the Officers in the months leading up to Field Day however the Membership as a whole votes on the Firefighter of the Year. This year we would like to congratulate Marvin Collins for being chosen as the 2010 York Village Fire Dept.’s Firefighter of the Year for his first class dedication and fantastic work as Treasurer of the Corporation. Other awards included the Officers award which was given to Firefighter Zach Apgar. Service awards given to Firefighter Brian Starkey, Matthew Graham, Joe Fox for their behind the scenes work in many of the day to day and field day operations. The officers also took time to recognize two young members, our two explorers for their hard work, Steven “Reggie” Carr and Adam Schoff who are always there to help you wash a truck or roll some hose. Congratulations to all for their sharp work this year!
