Just before midnight, York Village and York Beach Fire Departments were dispatched to Scotland Bridge Rd. (Village District) for a structure fire. York Dispatch recieved several calls reporting the early morning blaze.  The occupants were home at the time of the fire but did not discover it until it was quite advanced.  Captain Paul Balentine (K-4) was first due in his POV and reported heavy fire showing from the garage area of the 1 story house.  Companies stretched several 1 3/4″ handlines and 1 2 1/2″ handline.  First due firefighters made an aggressive interior attack cutting off the extension to the main part of the house. The garage and breezeway were a total loss, but the house was saved through the efforts of the members.  There were two firefighter injuries at this fire, one with lacerations and another one with chest pain, both were transported to York Hospital by York Ambulance. York Village Fire remained on scene until daybreak chasing hot-spots.
