York Beach Fire Department was dispatched to a Pine Hill Rd. address for a report of a vehicle fire.  An automatic response of Ogunquit Fire Department was dispatched because of the long distance from the York Beach Firehouse.  York Village Assistant Chief Gardner Marshall (C-2) arrived on scene within a minute to a fully involved vehicle fire at the end of a 500′ driveway  with exposures.  Minutes later C-2 advised that the fire was spreading into the structure.  A 1st Alarm/Working Fire was struck, bringing in companies from York Beach, York Village, Ogunquit and Kittery.  Once a water supply was established and hose lines were charged, the fire was knocked down and damage to the home was minimal. Several challenges kept firefighters on scene for an extended period of time.  There was a down power line in the driveway and a large amount of magnesium in the dash of the van.  Photos courtesy of Shawn St. Hilaire
