York Firefighters conducted a work detail at the firehouse Thursday night.  Projects included replacing the shutters, replacing the 2 1/2 inch hose on Tank 4, cleaning the inside of the trucks and many other small tasks.  Firefighters plan on painting the doors and the letters of the station soon with a fresh coat of red paint.

A crew of three spent about 6 hours on the water Saturday morning providing coverage for the “Nubble Challenge”.  Boat 1 rescue swimmers pulled 7 swimmers from the water during the challenge.  Most of them were fatigued.  The Challenge is a 2.4 mile swim around the Nubble Lighthouse.

Engine 6 goes to Town Dock 2 to stand by while the pyrotechnics load fireworks onto a boat.  The boat then transported the fireworks to an awaiting barge just off the shore at Short Sands Beach.
