In the afternoon on September 6, 2008 York Village Fire Department was dispatched to Route 1 at Creation Ln for a motor vehicle crash. FF Luke Starkey was first on scene in his POV and reported a head-on crash with injuries. He requested additional ambulances be dispatched. Mutual Aid was dispatched from Kittery Fire for their heavy rescue, Mutual aid ambulances included AMR Ambulance, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Ambulance, and South Berwick Rescue.
