York Village firefighters were heavily engaged at this large fire in Eliot for 21 hours. Crews arrived around 1300 hours on May 10 and were not released until 1000hrs on May 11. This fire was in a recycling facility and was very deep seated requiring heavy equipment to physically move the piles of burning garbage and recyclable materials. Multiple engines laid approximately 7500′ of large diameter hose to bring enough water to the fire scene. Thank You to Shawn St. Hilaire for the use of his photographs yet again.
