Around 1500hrs this afternoon, York Village Fire was dispatched to 5 Braveboat Harbor Rd. for a propane leak. Upon arrival we found a dump truck had clipped the top of an underground propane tank and it was leaking. The leak was unable to be shut off by York Village Firefighters. C-3 arrived and took command and requested a first alarm assignment bringing in York Beach Fire to the scene, Kittery Engine 5 and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Ladder 81 into York Village Fire station for station coverage. Crews stretched a hoseline from Squad 2 and Engine 6 laid a supply line from a nearby hydrant to provide an uninterrupted water supply. Crews conducted air monitoring of the area with gas meters, and flowed water onto the leak to disperse the vapors. The emergency crew from Lamprey Energy arrived and were able to make the necessary repairs and stop the leak.
