A congratulatory mention goes to the Eliot Fire Department for the delivery of their new Tank 1. It is a 2011 International/E-One/Water Master vacuum tanker with a 3000 gallon water tank. The truck is the first of its type in immediate mutual aid response area and replaces an aging 1980 tank truck that has served its time well, but had difficulty keeping up with today’s modern apparatus.

The tanker has a unique self-filling vacuum system that can fill the tank from three suction inlets. The

truck can fill from any alternative water source including ponds, lakes, ditches, swimming pools and rivers.

Eliot Tank 1 responds to all 2nd Alarm structure fires in the areas of York without Fire Hydrants. This is a valuable improvement to our Tanker coverage.
