The York Village Fire Department was recently awarded an AFG grant to purchase a “Quint” The members put in many hours evaluating Quints. Numerous manufacturers were considered and money was tight. The York Fire Department was within hours of placing a deposit on a Smeal Fire apparatus 75′ Quint when the local Pierce dealer came in with a “sweetheart” deal on a Pierce Velocity 75′ Quint with a 1750 GPM pump and 500 gallon water tank. York Village Fire is extremely pleased with our new Pierce. This replaces two 1970 American LaFrances, 1. a 1000 Gpm Pumper and a 80′ Aero Chief.
