Firefighter Josh Allen began his career as a full-time firefighter with the York Village Fire Department this morning at 0800. Josh has been a volunteer with YVFD since 2006. Josh went through a rigorous hiring process and came out #2 out of approximately 30 candidates. Jon Gay, a volunteer from York Beach took the top slot and was hired as a full time firefighter in York Village back in February. York Village Fire hasn’t hired any new full timers since 1985 and now we’ve hired 2 in one year!! We are very proud of our newest full-time firefighter and wish him a long and prosperous career!!
