On the the afternoon of February 1, York Village Fire, York Ambulance, and York Police were dispatched to Long Sands Beach in front of the Lobster Cove restaurant for a vehicle reported to be down over the rocks. First arriving companies found a 4 door sedan down over the rocks on the Beach with a person still inside. YVFD crews set up ropes and sent the stokes basket down over the rocks to get the patient to the roadside for York Ambulance crews on scene. The person was treated and transported to York Hospital by York Ambulance, the persons condition is unknown. YVFD & YPD worked together to shut the road down. National Wrecker Service used one of their large rotating wreckers to lift the car up to the road so that it could be towed off. All agencies worked seamlessly on the scene, teamwork and coordination was A+ Thank You everybody!!
