This morning approximately 0651 hours York Village Fire was dispatched for a smoke check in the area of the Breckenridge Estate on the York River off US Route 1. A cell caller from accross the river could see a large amount of smoke which appeared to be coming from the pool house. Captain Paul Balentine and Lieutenant Dave Butler were first on scene in their POV’s and reported that it was in-fact a fire and a 1st alarm was requested right away. Once access was gained to the property through the locked gates, crews found smoke showing from the pool house. Crews stretched the 300′ Orange pre-connected 1 3/4″ “apartment line” off the rear of Squad 2 to reach the fire. An aggressive interior attack commenced and the members were able to stop the fire in the 20×40 structure in short order. Meanwhile crews hand stretched 4″ supply line to the road which was picked up by Engine 4 who completed the lay to the hydrant on Route 1.

Thank You goes out yet again to Shawn St. Hilaire for the use of his excellent photographs!!!!!!
