This afternoon several members had the afternoon off and decided to get out and do some more driver operator/fire pump training. FF Shawn Puffer is completing his chauffeur training on Engine 4 and still had some required skills to complete. Being able to drive the apparatus is not even half of the process to become a qualified chauffeur on any of our fire apparatus. There are dozens of skills objectives to complete in addition to the required 100 miles of drive time.

Today he got a little closer to his goal of getting “checked off” on Engine 4. He has been working very hard at it. His dedication is going to make him an even bigger asset to the York Village Fire Department.

At the drill today we were flowing 1,200 gallons per minute at the height of the evolution. As you can see from the pictures, there is a lot of “spaghetti” (hose)on the ground!!
