In the early morning hours on November 3rd, York Village Fire was dispatched mutual aid to Kittery for a structure fire on Pattens place. Engine 4 was on the air within 5 minutes with a crew of 6 including Chauffeur Mike Brown Captain Paul Balentine Lt. Dave Butler FF’s Moore, Gammon and a Probie. Engine 4 arrived on-scene and reported to the staging area before being requested by Deputy Chief Lonergan to go assist the interior crews with overhaul and hot-spots. As usual the Kittery Firefighters did an excellent job knocking down the main body of fire prior to the arrival of most of the mutual aid Fire Departments. Kittery Fire Department is well known for their aggressive interior attack and not leaving any work for the out of towners!! Engine 4 crew each went through a bottle of air before being sent back to the staging area. From there the crews were released by Deputy Chief Lonergan to return to York Village.

Special Thank You to Portsmouth Fire Department Photographer Harold Buzzell for the use of his photographs.
