Tonight we started our training evolution with a roll-up at the former Fazio’s restaurant at 38 Woodbridge Rd. The building is owned by York Hospital and they have allowed us to use the building for non destructive training for several years. The first scenario involved a fire on a rooftop unit. Crews opted to stretch the 300′ 2 1/2″ hoseline with the smoothbore nozzle for this drill. A large hoseline flows more water and is always a sure bet when facing a fire attack on or in a commercial building.  The crews opted to stretch over Truck 8’s aerial. A single 24′ ground ladder was also thrown by Engine 4’s chauffeur to serve as a second means of egress from the roof of the building. The subsequent drills involved stretching the crosslays from Squad 2. We are experimenting with some different hoseloads for the pre-connects on that rig.
