Tonight members were heading to the vacant Fazio’s restaurant when both departments were toned out for a structure fire in the York Beach district. Engine 1 and 212 (Asst. Chief Welch) arrived and cancelled all companies. YV companies returned to the drillyard where the scenario was a fire on the second floor in the vacant bar area. First due Engine 6 stretched their 300′ 1 3/4″ “apartment line” upstairs and flowed water out a second floor window and Engine 4’s crew led by Lt. Dave Butler stretched a 2 1/2″ line up the stairs behind the E-6 crew and also flowed water out the window, Engine 4 Chauffeur Mike Brown handled the water supply for E-6. Truck 8 made the roof over their stick and led by Lt. Nick Hilton conducted a vertical ventilation operation to assist the interior crew. All members enjoyed a much needed refresher on their respective jobs tonight and all did a fantastic job.
