For many years York Village Fire Department has been called to assist the students and faculty at the York Elementary Schools with a unique request: drop packages with eggs in them from the aerial device. This began with Truck 1 our 1970 Aero-Chief and has continued with Truck 8 our 2008 Pierce Velocity Quint. Students design packaging containing one or more eggs and then it is dropped from the aerial at a specified height. York Village Firefighters have seen many unique designs over the years and it is a great opportunity to provide commnunity relations in a non-traditional manner for our fire department.
