The York Village Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of Firefighter/Paramedic William (Billy) Trapnell IV. Billy joined the York Fire Department in February of 2011. In his time with the York Fire Department he has made long lasting friendships with all of our members. His spontaneous, energetic, caring and compassionate personality will be missed by us all. He is known for taking members under his wing and sharing his incredible knowledge of the EMS field. Billy also served as a Paramedic with York Ambulance and South Berwick Rescue, and worked full time at US Coast Guard Boston.

Billy leaves behind his loving wife Tara, beautiful daughter Adalynn and his father William

Trapnel III, who will forever be a part of our family.

As of

this writing a delegation of York Village and York Beach Firefighters are in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for Billy’s Pennsylvania funeral. He already had a funeral and memorial service in York. We are confident that they will represent the York Fire Departments well. It appears as though they have been taken in by some local fire companies by their posts on facebook.
