approximately 0430 hrs Kittery was toned for a barn fire on Charles Hill Rd. On the arrival of 27-C-1 (Chief O’Brien) He advised that he had a fully involved barn with exposure to the house. He immediately requested a second alarm for his non-hydrant district. York Village toned out for Engine 4 and Tank 4 to respond. Kittery companies arrived to find the barn on the ground. Speculation is that a delayed alarm contributed to the advanced fire spread. While enroute, Engine 4 and Portsmouth, NH Engine 1 were cancelled by command. He requested that York Tank 4, Eliot Tank 1, South Berwick Tank 1, Greenland, NH Tank 1 and Kittery Point Tank 6 continue to the scene as water supply was an issue on the narrow dead-end dirt road. Chief Balentine

(C-1) and Captain Balentine ( K-4) responded to assist Tank 4 with the water shuttle to supply the overhaul operation.
