This afternoon, York Village Fire was dispatched to 167 Woodbridge Rd. for an outside fire. Crews found a 1/10 acre fire behind the residence caused by a permit burn that wasn’t fully extinguished the previous day. Permittees are reminded that Maine State law requires a permit burn to be fully extinguished at the completion of the burn. The law states that the permittee can be forced to reimburse fire suppression costs. Squad 2 stretched one line 300′ into the woods, and Engine 6 provided water supply.
