Today was the final burn for 40 Southside Rd. We have had this structure for a little over a month and gotten a lot of training out of the building. This morning was the culmination of all that training. Many skills were practiced including: Hose line advances, fire streams, ventilation, fire behavior, among other important skills that we cant always provide to make our firefighters the best possible without an actual building to train on/in. Live fire training is so important to our members, fires are on the decline so in an effort to keep our members skillsets strong, we need to find a way to train under live fire, the donation of this acquired structure allows us to do just that.
