Today members of the York Village Fire Department hosted the regional Firefighter I and II class being held at the North Berwick Fire Dept. Firefighters from all over York County are enrolled in the 240 hour class in an effort to obtain their Firefighter I and II certification. This certification allows them to be fully qualified firefighters and enter a burning building to perform their work. Locally York Village has one firefighter, FF Ryan Morse, York Beach has two firefighters, and Kittery has five in the class. Instructors came from York Village, North Berwick, Shapleigh, and Sanford to assist with the day’s evolutions.
